Can you combine electronic and mechanical elements?

Yes. A prop can combine microcontrollers, sensors, lights, sound and communications with locks, latches, movement, enclosures and tactile controls. The mix is chosen around the interaction, not a fixed technology list.

Can you upgrade an existing escape room puzzle?

Often, yes. We can assess the current prop and propose a focused retrofit, replacement controller or broader rebuild while accounting for existing scenery and operator workflow.

What should I include in the first brief?

Start with the player moment, theme, available space, group size, desired reset, deadline and working budget. Drawings, room plans and control-system details help, but are not required for the first conversation.

How can an escape room prop be designed for easier maintenance?

Service access, labelled connections, replaceable modules, visible fault information and a documented reset can all be considered before scenery closes around the prop. The practical handover can include the agreed wiring information, reset checklist and troubleshooting guidance.

Can accessibility requirements be considered in a custom puzzle?

Yes. Requirements are best discussed during the brief. Depending on the players and venue, the design can consider visual alternatives to audio, pattern or shape alongside colour, readable feedback, reachable controls and suitable input size or force.
